As a label, which creative phase do you find most gratifying?

We want to show a new and vibrant collection with an energy combining London and New York, we chose New York as it is the best place to realize our vision. That time is here and now.

Brand: Petrou\Man

Date/Time of your Show: Monday, September 14 at 11am

Collections to Date: Debut collection

Presentation or Runway: Presentation, styled by Robbie Spencer, Menswear Fashion Editor at Dazed & Confused

Synopsis behind the concept of the new S/S 2010 collection:

Based on an illustration by Srirchai and active sportswear, this collection focuses on design, cut, detailing and proportions.

Perfect model for your collection this season?

This collection focuses on the clothes and what we can achieve with the fabrication and cut. It is based on classic concepts and tailoring techniques that are revisited to create something new. The perfect model would be the guy who wants something special, with handwork and hand finishes. He is the guy who wants to own a suit but does not want to look dated, like his father's.

Key looks/colors we should expect to see in S/S 2010?

There are great pieces that can be worn together or as separates, dressed up or dressed down. This collection is quite flexible but very complete and timeless. Black, gray, navy and tan are the main colors for this PETROU\MAN collection with mesh overlays and strategically placed inserts inspired by active sportswear.

As a label, which creative phase do you find most gratifying?

It would have to be the handwork and the details that separate this collection from other brands' clothes, which are mass-produced in a factory by the hundreds or thousands. The PETROU\MAN clothes are as beautifully finished on the inside as they are on the outside, with welted seams and tailoring details that are rarely used in clothes today. The notion of mass-production is so not relevant today for PETROU\MAN.

If men are going to spend money on designer clothing they will want something that is more special, well-thought and stands out from the mass-retailers that are out there. I am not here to compete with H&M or the GAP. That would be suicidal for my brand.

"Must haves" for getting through fashion week?

Keywords—Love, focus, determination and passion from all the collaborators that are involved in creating and presenting this collection. There is no other way for this to succeed and be desired, if all the people involved don't possess these qualities.

Bonus Question: Who would be the ideal individual (living or not) that you would love to see wearing your new collection?

Anyone who admires good design and has a passion for clothing that is well thought and constructed. This is a collection made for individuals that like to express their identity through their clothes and that are interested in exploring new possibilities with the way they dress.

Synopsis behind the concept of the new S/S 2010 collection:

This season is based on the concept of "Fun with Conflict", or the idea of mixing opposing or unrelated elements to create something that is new and fresh.

Perfect model for your collection this season?

We recently posted on our blog an ode to the SI Swimsuit girls from the early 90s, so in that case, perhaps Mark Vanderloo would consider coming out of retirement for us.

Key looks/colors we should expect to see in S/S 2010?

Modern vs classic, color vs neutral, static vs motion.

Advice for designers showing for the first time?

The clearer the better.

"Must haves" for getting through fashion week?

Cheddar cheese Goldfish, Swedish Fish, Sour Patch kids, pizza from Saluggi's, coffee, Peanuts M&M's, and a positive attitude.

Joe Strummer.

Date/Time of your Show: Saturday, September 12 at 11am

Collections to Date: About 20

Presentation or Runway: Runway

Synopsis behind the concept of the new S/S 2010 collection:

This season our collection conveys a mood of being outdoors lounging in the garden, but properly dressed. We wanted to embrace a bygone era's effortlessly polished sartorial style.

Perfect model for your collection this season?

The perfect model for us is one of classic features and soft feminine demeanor.

Key looks/colors we should expect to see in S/S 2010?

Key looks will be high or natural waistlines, long hemlines. Colors are spring color washed with grey (pink, purple, green)

As a label, which creative phase do you find most gratifying?

The most gratifying is when we see the final sample in the real fabric. It's also the most nerve racking because sometimes what you think will come out good looks terrible.

"Must haves" for getting through fashion week?

Exercise!

Bonus Question: Who would be the ideal individual (living or not) that you would love to see wearing your new collection?

Maybe a young version of Wallis Simpson-Duchess of Windsor.
