IN CONVERSATION|DYLAN HAYES
How did you get discovered?
I grew up in an industry world, I was very intrigued by the fashion world and being able to "play these characters." So I said to myself, "Let's try modeling." Met with agencies from that point on and now here I am!
What were you doing prior to modeling?
Before modeling, I was overwhelmed in the world of fashion photography. I was shooting for various surf/skate brands and Chrome Hearts as a main client!
People would be surprised to know that I...
I have a infatuation with senses. As in I love smelling weird things and listening to what seems like sounds that get pass by, I also love salt!
What's your latest obsession?
It would have to be instruments. I want to play them all. I am currently in the process of learning mandolin, keyboard and the ukulele
Your most prize possession?
My collection of vintage cameras. They all have a story of where I got them whether it was at a store in the middle of America or passed down through my family
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
It would have to be my grandfather. He was everything I wanted to be. I can confidently say I am who I am today because of him!
When is the last time you said, "I Love You" to someone?
Last person I said "I Love You" to was my cousin. We both flew in from LA last night and said a good 'ol "I love You" before we passed out!
Three adjectives that best describes you:
Creative, Caring and Happy
Describe your personal style:
I wear things that I like. I have things that lasted and are comfortable. I can't pinpoint my style, it changes all the time!
Your favorite place you have travel to:
My favorite place I have traveled to would have to be Big Sur, California. Camping is a hobby of mine and I am convinced Big Sur is the most beautiful place in the world!
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
Psycho—Scene: The original is my favorite. My fave scene is when Norman is talking in the hotel office, and he hug huge birds behind him. To me it shows his power. Like a hidden message.
Your favorite sport:
If there's a destination or item you would recommend us to check out or visit about your native country/city or town, what would you recommend?
Mailbu, California—There is a huge field off the beaten path that no one knows about. It has it all. Massive grass field, a lake and a beautiful view. I think this place truly represents the heart and soul of Malibu!
If you were given a indie cable show, which song would you choose as your opening theme song?
Theme song would be: In The Ghetto by Candi Staton
The first half of the show would consists of various skits to attempt to make people laugh. The last half of the show would be my friends and I talking about the world, but make it interesting and share our point of views with a little humor involved. Everyone needs to laugh!
Your wish for the remainder of 2014?
On a path where I can see the end and the end would be what I want to do for the rest of my life!
