REBEL, REBEL|ADAM RAIFSNIDER PART 1

———————————————————————
IN CONVERSATION|ADAM RAIFSNIDER

Name|Adam Tyler Raifsnider
Age|19
Hometown|Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

How did you get discovered?
I got into modeling after being scouted at a concert in Philadelphia. I had never considered modeling before, but I saw the opportunity as a chance to push myself outside of my comfort zone. So few people are handed opportunities  like this, so I felt it would have been foolish to not pursue it.
What were you doing prior to modeling?
Before modeling, I was a typical college student at Drexel University (Go Dragons!) I rarely had any time in which I wasn't either in class, working my campus job at the recreational center, Rock Wall, or locked in my room, studying.
People would be surprised to know that I...
Though few would venture to guess based on my physique, I am actually an avid rock climber and outdoors enthusiast. Climbing, hiking and camping are huge passions of mine, even though it is pretty tough to choose to go without air conditioning, sometimes...
What's your latest obsession?
I have recently become obsessed with comic books and superhero mythos in general, specifically, BATMAN and SPIDERMAN. I actually own the entire BATMAN cartoon series from the 90s on DVD.
Your most prize possession?
In high school, I worked at a sleep away summer camp as a counselor teaching pottery to the campers. The final day of camp, one of my campers, a 7-year-old girl, gave me a fox she had made, "As a reminder of how much fun we all had." She said. That fox is still sitting on my desk.
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
Though it might sound cliche, I have to say that my childhood role model was my father. My family faced some hardship during the recession, but my dad always kept his head up, did what he had to do, and as a result, we all came through.
When is the last time you said, "I Love You" to someone?
I spoke with my mother on the phone earlier today, talking about all my plans for the week. She was initially very wary about the concept of me pursuing a modeling career, so the fact that she's now (slowly) opening up and sharing in my excitement really warms my heart. After our conversation was done, I thanked her for supporting me and told her I love her.
Three adjectives that best describes you:
Excitable, Optimistic and Pensive
Describe your personal style:
I dress in a lot of vintage and thrift clothes. I find a lot of enjoyment in "discovering" pieces on the thrift store racks in an effort to cultivate looks that are truly unique and eclectic.
Your favorite place you have travel to:
I have yet to do any international travel, so I cant speak much to that, but my favorite place I have been to is Crowder's Mountain in North Carolina. The hiking trails are a s steep as they are long, making the view from the top just that much more rewarding.
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
SLC Punk—It is a essentially a coming of age story about two anarchist punks living in hyper-conservative Salt Lake City. Scene: (And I am trying really hard not to spoil it) comes when one of the characters starts to question the realism and longevity of the "Punk" lifestyle.
Your favorite book:
My favorite book is Scott Lynch's "The Lies of Locke Lamora." Think Games of Thrones, but centered around a group of thieves akin to Ocean's Eleven. I love high fantasy as a genre, as nerdy as that may make me sound.
If there's a destination or item you would recommend us to check out or visit about your native country/city or town, what would you recommend?
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—If you were to come to my hometown, the first place I'd take you is "The Depot". A massive abandoned-mill-turned-antique shop. It's one of my favorite places in town, and one could easily spend a full day exploring it.
If you were given a indie cable show, what type of show would it be? Which song would you choose as your theme song?
A lot of the time, I feel like my life plays out like a sitcom. Anyways, so that's the format that make the most sense. Theme song would be: Don't Stop Me Now by Queen
Your wish for 2015?
My one wish would be for season 6 of Game Of Thrones to be returned tomorrow. That might seem like a waste of a wish, but I just really don't think I can make it until next April.
