IN CONVERSATION|JOSEPH JONES
How did you get discovered?
It was a sunday afternoon and I was about to cross 9th Street but then my agent, George Brown stopped me and the rest is history.
What were you doing prior to modeling?
Full time student at the acting conservatory; the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater
People would be surprised to know that I...
am a fluent speaker of the Irish language
What's your latest obsession?
Meisner technique (acting) and also the latest fashion in menswear
Your most prize possession?
My gold ring is extremely sentimental to me. I wear it everywhere. It was my grandfather's then my dad's and now it's mine. I would say it's my good luck charm here in New York City.
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
My dad. I know it is cliche but I have a great respect for someone that can work hard and make everyone happy!
When is the last time you said, "I Love You" to someone?
My mom today. I always say it when I am saying goodbye to her on the phone.
Three adjectives that best describes you:
Determined, Enthusiastic and Creative
Describe your personal style:
A mix of vintage, high fashion inspired and whatever I find nice. I never really dress down, I loved button up shirts!
Your favorite place you have travel to:
NYC. Ever since I was a child, my dream was to move to Manhattan and now I am here!
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
Rebel Without A Cause & Roman Holiday—Scene: The entire film
Your favorite play:
Hamlet by Shakespeare. It would be extremely difficult role to play but I strive to get to that part in my career. I hope I can get to that role successfully in a professional production someday.
If there's a destination or item you would recommend us to check out or visit about your native country/city or town, what would you recommend?
Belfast, Ireland—I would like to bring you to a few places: The Giants Causeway because I always went there as a child; the "Urban Gaeltacht" because I am a proud Irish language speaker and the Titantic Museum because a family member worked on the ship when it sink.
If you were given a indie cable show, what type of show would it be?
I would love to act on a show like "Games Of Thrones". Every second on that show is exciting. At the same time, I wouldn't mind someone filming my life in New York so that I have something to look back on.
Craziest thing you ever done:
I got on a camel in the Egyptian desert and it had a full panic attack and swing me around like crazy. It was very scary! Haha!
Your wish for 2016?
Make enough money so I can stay in NY till next year! I love this city and I never want to leave!
