Name|Matthew Sosnowski
Hometown|Scotch Plains, New Jersey

How did you get discovered?
I was discovered on instagram through a video my friend posted. It was a photographer who thought I was a girl. I ended up doing a shoot with him at my friends boutique in Brooklyn. He send my images to Fusion and the rest was history.
What were you doing prior to modeling?
I went to high school before modeling. I adored Fusion and wanted to be a part of the industry. I would spend hours working in my room trying on clothes. When I was in sophomore year I looked for an internship. I found one with a small organization to help out during fashion week . Being able to see the industry in full action made me realize that this is what I wanted to do with my life. Since then, I have been making steps further to achieve my goals to get into the industry.
People would be surprised to know that I...
used to be an athlete. I played almost every sport on the list. Once I get to high school the sports stopped and spend the rest of the time in the art department.
What's your latest obsession?
Lately I've been obsessed about the warm weather. I just want to be in the forest and be surrounded by the flowers and trees.
Your most prize possession?
I have two pieces of jewelry, my ring and my opal bracelet. I wear it everyday. All of my grandmother's jewelry are my favorite.
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
I looked up to my mom and other important female guardians in my life. I admired my babysitter, she taught me how to braid hair really well and sew. My aunt was a big influence to me because she really taught me a lot about knitting and sewing.
When is the last time you said, "I Love You" to someone?
My mother, this morning.
Three adjectives that best describes you:
Experimental, Caring and Stubborn
Describe your personal style:
I wouldn't really say I have style. I wear clothes that express how I am feeling. When I buy clothes I don't buy them because I know it would look good with another outfit. I appreciate the clothes for themselves. What I am wearing is how I am feeling. So I guess you could just say my style is based on instincts and feeling.
Your fashion style icon:
Iris Apfel, her style is absolutely amazing. She is my style icon!
Your top six fashion designers and some notes on each designer:
Alexander McQueen: He crossed a boundary between fashion and performance art
Maison Martin Margiela: Innovative and experimental style that cohesively works together
Misha Koptev: Fashion performance art
Vivienne Westwood: Distinctive style and I love her use of color and pattern
Hu Shuang-Bao: New designer with insane architectural clothing and solid colors
Jean Paul Gaultier: Humorous and sartorial clothing
Your favorite place you have travel to:
Alaska, the landscape and nature was very beautiful. I went for a family vacation there when I was 13 years old.
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
Clueless—Scene: When Cher is about to be robbed and refuses to lie on the ground because she is wearing Alaia.
Your favorite sport:
My family follows the Rangers.
If there's a destination or item you would recommend us to check out or visit about your native country/city or town, what would you recommend?
Scotch Plains, New Jersey—I would take you to the local thrift store near my house. You can find me there almost everyday.
If you were given a indie cable show, what type of show would it be?
I would do a cheesy reality show. Broke fashion students in the city.
If you can create your own fashion superhero, what would be his/her name?
There are no fashion superheroes but I could be the first! I would call myself the SEWING SPARKLE!
Your wish for the remainder of 2016?
Happy, healthy and cheers to new beginnings!
