THE ADVENTURER|SEAN BARNES

————————————————————
IN CONVERSATION|SEAN BARNES

Name|Sean Barnes
Age|18
Hometown|Vancouver, Canada

How did you get discovered?
I was always interested in modeling and when the opportunity came for me to do so, I went to Vancouver and met with Jorge Ramos, who is now my agent.
What were you doing prior to modeling?
I attended a boarding school in Vancouver Island, Canada. When I wasn't studying, I took every opportunity I can get and travel to the world's most exotic locations!
People would be surprised to know that I...
am pretty geeky at times. I will attend lectures by famous physicists and keep up to date with future tech. It's funny when people tried that out too, their expressions are golden.
What's your latest obsession?
Traveling by far one of my greatest obsessions. Not ordinary traveling by which you stay at luxury hotel but to get out of your comfort zone and stay in local village in some third world country and experimenting all you couldn't have at home.
Your most prize possession?
When I traveled to Sri Lanka a few years back, I worked at a local school where I had a strong connection with the local children. When I left, I asked them to give me a drawing of their family with their home address. I still have them and I am going to hold on to them until I see them again.
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
Leonardo DiVinci, he was always his original self no matter what people told him how he should change. His creativity is what I admired most about him.
When is the last time you said, "I Love You" to someone?
My good friend, Adrian back in Vancouver. We've known each other for eight years now and he is always been one of the closest people I have in my life.
Three adjectives that best describes you:
Adventurous, Creative and Energized
Describe your personal style:
I always buy clothes that are not trendy. I never wear hats but I love wearing black  and it goes with everything.
Your favorite place you have travel to:
I've always believed places can never be compare by beauty, but the Isles of the South Pacific are mesmerizing.
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
The Prestige—Scene: The ending scene left me in shock for like three days
Your favorite sport:
Sport: Rugby—I love the intensity and the brutality of it.
If there's a destination or item you would recommend us to check out or visit about your native country/city or town, what would you recommend?
Vancouver, Canada—I would take you to this beautiful place called the Princess Louise inlet north of Vancouver. It's absolutely stunning and I would hike the mountains with you and stargaze.
If you were given a indie cable show, what type of show would it be?
It would be a Sci-Fi comedy show in which each episode tells its own story and it is unrelated to any of the others in the series.
Craziest thing you ever done:
This one time in Thailand, I decided to test myself in kayak to an island 10 miles away. I got to the island in the evening but had run out of water. It took four hours to arrive there and the way back took even longer, as the wind was blowing in my face, with waves big enough to knock me out of the boat. It was scary, at times, I felt I wouldn't be able to make it back but I did. When I return to shore, I was so exhausted. The local villagers thought I was crazy to make that trek.
Your wish for the remainder of 2016?
I would like to wish for a new Cannon 5D Mark III camera. A lot of the stuff I love to do revolves around film and photography.

I like to paint and draw in my free time. Mostly portraits but I also make collages from magazines or little designs that I come across that I like. I am interested in film at the moment so I am trying to learn as much as I can and get work experience.
Who you would love to meet through modeling?
Not really sure who I would bump into...Meeting Pharrell Williams would be  really cool and maybe he could turn up at a show I am in.

S'WONDERFUL |TRES WUERFFEL

——————————————————————
IN CONVERSATION|TRES WUERFFEL

Name|Tres Wuerffel
Age|22
Hometown|Minneapolis, Minnesota

How did you get discovered?
Photographer friend wanted help to expand his portfolio so I modeled for him. My friend Jesus published a artistic signature and style photograph of me in a local art magazine. I was approached by an agent who inquired about me.
What were you doing prior to modeling?
I was studying engineering, as well as working at  a few jobs. I was feeling so burnt out because I haven't taken a single semester off. Coming to NYC seem like a much needed change of pace.
People would be surprised to know that I...
When I was seven I survived brain cancer. It was an experience the summer after my second grade. When I considered it later, I often thought about the neurosurgeon. If he hadn't suffered through medical school, it is highly unlikely I would be alive today. So, I owe it to that person to go through engineering school.
What's your latest obsession?
Spanish and Dominican culture. Living in Washington Heights, everyone speaks Espanol. I've been building upon my high school Spanish courses, learning dominos and trying to score some salsa and other Latin dancing courses. Flamenco guitar is hard!
Your most prize possession?
My navy backpack. Mysteriously left at my apartment in Minnesota. The pack has seen quite a few miles. I have lived out of it.It is always stack with tupperware lunches, notebooks, textbooks, clothes, electronics, resumes, cosmetics, art supplies and whatever else I need that day...
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
I had a few heroes growing up, and was never star struck or involved in sports. I would have to point to the video game character, Link from The Legend of Zelda franchise. He is dogmatic, vigilant and equipped. I have always admired characters strong, silent archetype, and hope to be remembered that way someday.
When is the last time you said, "I Love You" to someone?
The last person that I told I loved is my very cosmopolitan sister, Cydney. Yo Tengo Dos Hermanos, Cydney & Stephanie. Cydney is my eldest sister , when I was younger, she protected me from bullies. My other sister, Stephanie, she is supportive, good humored and married to a wonderful man whom I called my brother-in-law.
Three adjectives that best describes you:
Aloof, Industrious and Friendly
Describe your personal style:
Somewhere between Dadcore or Indiana Jones. I usually dressed in rugged clothing, boots, tucked button downs, leathers and breathable cottons.
Your favorite place you have travel to:
Northwest Montana, specifically a town called Troy. I went there on a whimsical summer road trip with a friend before he left for college. His friend, our host, was so warm and fun. We found abandon mine shafts that were 200 years old, found silver, climbed to alpine lakes and climb permafrost mountain glaciers. Montana changed my life. I learned about the sustainable house our lost lived in and suddenly knew what I would do with my time left on this earth.
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
Forrest Gump—Scene: All scenes with Lieutenant Dan. I was young when I pulled the movie off the shelf on a whim and watched it with no prior knowledge. I felt emotional watching the character experienced hardships and adversity, both personally and vicariously.
Your favorite sport:
Sport: M.L.G.—Major League Gaming—Fighting game genre, Justin Wongggg!!!
If there's a destination or item you would recommend us to check out or visit about your native country/city or town, what would you recommend?
Minneapolis, Minnesota—I will take you to Minnehaha Falls & Fantasy Flight Gaming Centre in Rosedale, a beautiful park of waterfalls and bridges. Big sleepy Hobby Shop with a killer cafe and great company.
If you were given a indie cable show, what type of show would it be? Which song would you choose as your theme song?
Part of me wants to be a smart ass and run a special about how no one watches cable television anymore. I'd run a  panel of philosophers and scientists to discuss adversities facing humanity (guests such as Neil DeGras Tyson, Carl Sagan's ghost, Bill Nye and Noam Chomsky etc.) Theme song: They'll Need A Crane by They Might Be Giants
Craziest thing you ever did:
In Montana, I swam across the Kootenai River, which is apparently quite dangerous. I cliff jumped into a waterfall reservoir. I used to climb on top of my high school's roof and stargazing and have picnics there in the winter.
Your wish for the remainder of 2016?
That I would know how to help everyone I meet, in one way, big or small.
